- Pomegranate

Pomegranate was one of the first fruits to have been cultivated, nearly 5,000 years ago. Throughout history, this delicious fruit has continued to be an emblem of fertility, rebirth, and health.

Pomegranate is often called a "miracle fruit" by admirers, but it has earned huge popularity because it is believed to support the body's natural defenses against diseases such as Alzheimers, various cancers, coronary and heart diseases, arthritis and anti-aging effects.

Pomegranate is rich in antioxidants that can reduce bad LDL cholesterol from oxidizing . In addition, pomegranate juice, like aspirin, can help keep blood platelets from clumping together.

Pomegranate contains polyphenols, tannins and anthocyanins - all of which are beneficial antioxidants.

All of this might explain why Pomegranate has quickly emerged as one of the most discussed health foods over the past several years – no wonder the ancient Greeks called it the „apple of Aphrodite“.

- Blueberries

Blueberries are nutritional “stars” bursting with nutrition and flavor while being very low in calories. The antioxidant capability of blueberries helps to neutralize free radical damage to the collagen matrix of the cells and tissues that can cause diseases and cancer. Because of the high level of carotenes and polyphenols in blueberries, they have a direct immune system strengthening effect. Blueberries are also rich in Vitamin C, iron, important tannins and the natural colorant, Anthocyanin, which is good for the cholesterol level.

Researchers have found that blueberries help protect the brain from oxidative stress and may reduce the effects of age-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Other clinical studies have proven positive effects against headaches and migraines.

Blueberry consumption, delicious way for our bodies to stay as healthy as possible.

- Blackberries

Blackberries are one of the top five fruits in the “antioxidant superfruit” league. Jam-packed with polyphenols and anthocyanins, not to mention flavonoids, blackberries deliver a rich supply of Vitamins A and C, fiber, potassium, magnesium, copper and rare manganese. Blackberries are high in gallic acid, rutin and ellagic acid, a well known substance with anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Due to the dark blue color of blackberries, they have one of the highest antioxidant levels of fruits regularly tested for their ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity), therefore making blackberries excellent sources of helping to fight free radical damage in the body and to reduce the risks of certain cancers.

+ Rooibos Tea

Rooibos, or South African “red bush” tea, has higher antioxidants than green tea, and it is caffeine free. Rooibos is rich in vitamins, natural minerals, and is an excellent aid in digestion.

The amount of polyphenols contained in Rooibos, have proven in clinical studies, that this tea is comparable to green tea in its anti-mutagenic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral activity. Rooibos, similar to Green tea, has positive effects on the protection of the blood vessels and skin cells. A big difference is the convulsant and anti-allergic effect, that reduces the release of histamine in the body.

Because of Rooibos’ strong mineral content which includes iron, potassium, zinc, manganese and sodium, the body's equilibrium system is quickly restored after strenuous physical exercise and metabolic functions.

According to clinical studies conducted in South Africa and Japan, Rooibos has been proven to aid in health problems such as insomnia, irritability, headaches, nervous tension, and hypertension. Perhaps rooibos’ biggest advantage is being caffeine free and low in tannins, therefore dehydration effects are non-existant.

+ Glucose

Glucose, also known as grape sugar or blood sugar, is the most important and omnipresent sugar in biology. Glucose is used in living cells in most organisms as a source of energy and as a metabolic intermediate.  Glucose is the primary source of energy for the brain and directly influences psychological processes and conditions. Glucose can pass the blood-brain-barrier and deliver most of the energy used in a rapid amount of time. The average adult human brain utilizes 20% of the body‘s energy intake, which makes it the body‘s most energetic organ.

The carbohydrates from Glucose can be assimilated instantly into the bloodstream as a source of energy, as it is metabolized instantly by the body delivering instant energy to the brain.

+ Panax Ginseng

The English word ginseng is derived from “ese” and means “root man” referring to the root's characteristic forked shape. Ginseng roots which are shaped like the human body are considered highly desirable and some consider it to be an aphrodisiac and stimulant.

Ginseng has been a part of Chinese medicine for thousands of years, as it is commonly used in connection with cancer, anxiety, colds, flu and lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Panax Ginseng is held in high esteem because of its use as a medicinal plant.

All forms of ginseng are said to aid in reducing stress, improving vitality and boosting the immune system. As a medicinal plant, ginseng has been used for centuries as a remedy for a multitude of illnesses. Panax ginseng has a relaxing effect on the muscles in the lungs, resulting in airway relaxation which can help calm asthma symptoms and other airways constricting lung conditions. In clinical studies, a combination of panax ginseng and gingko biloba has proven to increase memory and cognitive processes. Panax ginseng reduces symptoms of fatigue and weakness, vitalizes in times of decreasing mental cognition and has a positive effect on convalescence, metabolic parameters and the immune response.

+ Shiitake

Mushrooms in a refeshing drink? It sounds strange at a first glance, but shiitake has been a symbol of longevity in Asia for centuries due to its’ health-promoting properties. Shiitake has been used medicinally by the Chinese for more over 6,000 years and counting. The Japanese consider the shiitake not only a flavorful food, but also "the elixir of life" that boosts immune function, supports cardiovascular health, and shows promise in lowering the risk of cancer.

Shiitake provides high levels of potassium, Vitamin B complexes, calcium, magnesium and trace elements like phosphorus. Shiitake is also rich in beta-glucan (polysaccharides), and it also harnesses anti-inflammatory effects.

+ Calcium

The fifth most abundant element by mass in the body, Calcium acts as a common cellular ionic messenger with many functions in muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release, as well as the body’s glycogen metabolism and cell division. Calcium is essential for all living organisms, particularly cell physiology where it activates many cellular enzymatic and hormonal processes.

The body needs calcium for strong teeth and bone structure, as it provides stability and strength early in life, while keeping them strong and healthy later in life.
